St. Anton Communities purchased 14 separate land parcels to develop a master-planned housing community.
Campbell, Calif.—Construction has begun on a major Downtown Campbell community. St. Anton Communities announced its plans for The Residences at Railway, an $88 million project involving 14 parcels of land, which were gathered through a multi-year effort.
The community sits adjacent to the Downtown Campbell Light Rail Station, the Los Gatos Creek Trail and numerous downtown businesses. Once finished, the property will include 119 apartments, 32 town homes and six duets.
The Silicon Valley-based project is being designed by national award-winning firm KTGY Architecture + Planning. The community is the largest apartment community to be built in Downtown Campbell and is meant to accentuate the historic elements while also bringing a modern touch with cutting-edge amenities and transit-oriented housing.
“St. Anton tasked us with designing a new amenity-rich, infill TOD community that captured the character and charm of the existing Downtown. The result is a contemporary design referencing historical elements of the community that creates something unique for Campbell,” said KTGY Principal Keith Labus, AIA, LEED AP.
A primary focus for St. Anton was increasing the transit-oriented development aspects of the project. Some of these will include green bicycle lanes and a direct pedestrian connection to Los Gatos Creek Trail. Unique amenities include a rooftop theater overlooking Historic Downtown Campbell; themed social areas; an indoor/outdoor wellness, yoga and training facility, a resort-inspired pool, spa and cabana area; pet facilities including a dog wash; iLounges where residents can work remotely while at home and more.
“St. Anton is committed to transit-oriented housing and our Campbell project brings housing where it is most needed. We plan to construct more than 1,000 TOD units in the Silicon Valley over the next two years,” St. Anton owner Peter Geremia said.
Demolition is scheduled for December 2015 and construction is anticipated to last two years.
